Congrats to the (so far) anonymous high donor over the weekend in our 12 Days of Giving food drive for The Food Bank For New York. That person gets both the booze and shoes previously offered as bribes for getting off one’s keister and helping feed the hungry. And yet still we languish in the middle of the pack.

Today’s bribe is a just-received Game of Thrones publicity pack among the most over-the-top I’ve ever gotten that didn’t involve someone bursting out of a cake or a mule carcass. In this case it consists of a fine red box holding a 2-Blu-Ray-disc set of Game of Thrones*, plus “authentic” Lannister stationery (paper, envelopes, and a wax seal of the family crest), plus some sweet cast photos, and an “authentic” dragon egg which will hatch and destroy your enemies, all in good time, all in good time.

Also there is a bottle of Jameson included. This was not part of the press pack but it certainly should have been. Should be part of all press packs in fact. It’s part of today’s bribe anyway. And remember that any donation of $36 or more gets a free subscription to BlackBook whether you’re the high donor du jour or not.
